Empowered Parents in Community (EPiC)

Empowered Parents in Community (EPiC) is a community-rooted, collaborative, strength-based organization unapologetically committed to transforming outcomes for children, who are systematically underserved in education, and ensuring their success at school and in life.

We are a non-profit, 501c3 organization that’s cultivating parent leadership through collective organization and advocating for accountability at all levels. Our programs are open to all families - strengthening communities most impacted by the academic opportunity gap.

What We’re About

Collective community building and intentional engagement of like-minded parents, caregivers, and communities.

Advocating for high-quality educational opportunities and the equitable distribution of resources within schools and across school districts, from early childhood through college and career.

Our Core Beliefs

  • Parents are essential in both supporting and holding schools accountable.
  • When parents understand equity and teachers feel supported, we can foster collaboration for the success of all students.
  • Parents who have the desire, time, and resources to commit can fiercely “stand in the gap” for those who do not, without judgment.
  • By combining our wisdom and resources, parents and community partners can drive meaningful progress in eliminating educational inequities.
  • We trust the lived experience of committed parents who are stepping in to close the opportunity gap.
